iDT Labs, headquartered in Sierra Leone, is an ICT company with a focus on envisioning, designing and implementing technology solutions for development in West Africa. Since 2013, we have been delivering high quality and customized ICT solutions for governments, organizations and businesses wanting to tackle social, developmental, and economic challenges.

  • We are the strategic knowledge and technology partners to commercial banks, community banks, and micro-finance institutions, providing core banking systems, mobile financial services, digital payments facilitation, payroll management and other value-added services to these institutions.

  • We work with the Sierra Leone Microfinance Association to migrate MFIs to an open source loan management system

  • We advise and help implement financial inclusion strategies for traditional financial institutions who are interested in providing access to the financially excluded.

  • We were the guest panelists at the 2016 Malaysia World Bank Symposium on Payments & Remittances

  • Our work in creating a payroll processing and biometric verification for Ebola Response Workers has been featured as a Best Case Practice for an innovative implementation of financial inclusion during a disaster by the Better than Cash Alliance (BTCA). Read the full report here.

  • We are currently serving as the chair and as major sponsors of the Sierra Leone Fintech Association

  • During the Ebola outbreak in 2014, we mobilized a team of 35 mobile verification officers for carrying out biometric registration and payment distribution to 30,000 health workers. View the complete project here

  • We have worked with IBM Research Africa to carry out the proof of concept and pilot evaluation for EPiC, an infectious disease surveillance system. View the complete project here

  • We have experience in creating and running Human Centered Design based iterations, surveys and focus group studies.

  • We have conducted the first ever large-scale SMS based survey in Sierra Leone for the World Bank, building both the software system to conduct the survey via SMS and implement it as well.

  • We find ourselves at the fore-front of helping West African governments realize the economies of scale, vendor independence, future proofing and tremendous cost savings that adopting cloud computing and open source technology results in.

  • We have helped deploy government payments systems, judiciary case management systems, and large scale document management solutions to the cloud.

  • We developed and operate a cloud based SaaS platform to help West African small and medium sized enterprises enjoy the efficiencies of automating but avoid the costs and pitfalls of off-the-shelf proprietary systems. Learn more

  • We have worked with the National Ebola Response Centre (NERC) and the UNDP for the biometric verification and payment processing of 30,000 Ebola Response Workers

  • We have managed large scale core-banking system migration efforts for several financial institutions.

  • We have managed payroll and human resource information development and data migration for banks, telecoms, and large mining companies with workforces of a several thousand.

  • We run a series of free training programs throughout the year for imparting ICT skills to recent graduates and SME owners.

  • We are currently providing technical and project management support to Code for Sierra Leone, a citizen led grass root initiative that is using open source technologies to improve the delivery of services in the public sector in the country.

  • We sponsor and provide leadership to the Fintech Association of Sierra Leone
